The pandemic was hard on us all, however the physical, mental and emotional toll was different for healthcare workers. Many are struggling with burnout and other related issues. Healthcare workers are leaving their jobs. Healthcare worker wellbeing needs to be a priority for the good of our communities. Voted “Ellensburg’s Best Adult Recreation” by the local community, Lori Chandler R.Y.T., has been teaching yoga in Ellensburg, Washington for over 20 years. Lori provides instruction in breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga, and using her extensive experience, takes extra care to make yoga work for everyone, regardless of their age or physical limitations.
Nan Doolittle has a diverse experience in healthcare; a nurse in family medicine, a Group Health Cooperative Code Team for nine years, CPR instructors healthcare providers and KVH Home Health Hospice nurse. She went on to co-create the CWU Family Resource Center additionally she created and taught expressive arts and psychology at CWU.
Nan is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington. She has provided expressive arts workshops to a variety of populations, including sexual abuse survivors, Dr. Larry Nassar gymnast Sister Survivors and their parents, suicide survivors, and Latino students at CWU during the pandemic. In 2022, she founded Northwest Expressive Arts Response, a 501(c)(3), where she is the executive director. Sh has partnered with Quiet Cadence to offer monthly Peer Decompression groups for Healthcare workers.
Jayne Beebe, PMHNP is an Associate Professor in Washington State University College of Nursing Yakima. President and founder of Sprit of Hope, Equine Center for Life & Learning, in Selah, WA. She is an Equine Specialist Level I for both EAGALA and EFMHA with many years therapeutic horse-riding instructor experience. She is a Certified Instructor for Mental Health First Aid.
